Summary
In Musical atoms, works by Wagner, Lennon & McCartney, Brahms, and Vaughn Williams are used to present the idea that the two-note relationship of the interval is the heart and soul of music, working to create two quite separate phenomena, melody and harmony. In Quiz concert, after hearing a four-minute "mystery" piece, the audience is invited to guess the composer's name and nationality and the period, style, and form of the music. Next familiar pieces are played in various incongruous ways, and the audience is asked to figure out what the musicians are doing wrong. The quiz is offered in a spirit of fun
